Grounds

We hope you have some time to enjoy the grounds surrounding this historic house.

The plantings coincide with the significant use of the house.

First phase was William Dun, the 1820’s to 1840’s including the Norfolk Island Hibiscus at the entrance to the house & the fan palm by the veranda.

Second Phase – Sid Reynolds 1970 – 2000. Sid developed an Australian native nursery & there are a lot of trees scattered through the grounds that show Sid’s love of Queensland rainforest species.

Third Phase – 2019 and on… the development of a Lower Hunter rainforest environment, as well as the bush food garden.
